PenConnect enables healthcare providers to provide patients with exam results automatically, dramatically reducing patient anxiety and costs. PenConnect automatically provides patients with their results by email via secure PDF attachment, or by phone. Providers can be assured that when a message is retrieved, the information is automatically recorded for auditing purposes. PenConnect can be customized and can be set up to allow all results information to be automatically delayed, allowing physicians to review communications prior to patient notification. The system uses your facility's internet connection.
Along with reducing patient anxiety when waiting to receive exam results, PenConnect saves time and resources by reducing mailing and handling expenses. An answered email/phone call saves a $1.
Results/Reminders by Email
Allows the patient to receive a brief email message with a secured PDF regarding the results of the exam. The service will also initiate reminder emails for upcoming exams.
Reminders can be PDF or simply a message in the body of the email. If desired, a facility may request a reply to the email as a verification receipt, otherwise paper will be printed within a specified number of days. Additionally, you may optionally specify such a reply is required only for the first email sent to a patient, as the email address will then be considered "verified”.
Results/Reminders by Phone
The patient dials in to receive a brief phone message regarding the results of their exam. The service will also initiate reminder calls for upcoming exams.
PenConnect automatically keeps an audit trail for users including when a message is retrieved and the ip address of the receiving computer for email results or caller ID data for phone results. Messages can be automatically delayed to allow physicians an opportunity to review the exam prior to patient notification.
